New Consignaction return site opens in Saint-François as deposit network expands in Laval

A new Consignaction return site has opened at 1245 Montée du Moulin in the Galeries du Moulin sector of Saint-François, adding another service point to Laval’s growing deposit-return network, according to a press release issued April 17, 2026. Local reporting published the same day also confirmed the opening at that address.
The new site is reserved exclusively for redeemable beverage containers and offers two return options, according to Consignaction: unit-by-unit returns using automated machines, and an Express Return service that allows users to drop off a bag of unsorted containers. The organization says the site is equipped with new technology intended to process larger volumes more quickly and efficiently.
Consignaction states that users can receive their refund through its mobile application. For unit returns, the reimbursement can be paid in cash or electronically, while Express Return refunds are issued electronically only after containers are sorted and counted in the following days.
According to Consignaction’s return-site information, on-site return advisors are available daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Thursdays and Fridays when the site closes at 7 p.m. The organization’s interactive map lists the same schedule for Laval-area return sites.
The opening comes as Quebec continues to modernize its deposit-return system. Consignaction says the network has been shifting since 2024 from a retailer-based model to a hybrid structure that includes dedicated Consignaction, Consignaction+ and Zone Consignaction locations, with the stated objective of reaching a 90 percent recovery rate by 2032.
The current system already includes plastic ready-to-drink beverage containers between 100 mL and 2 L, a change that took effect on March 1, 2025. Consignaction said in a March 1, 2026 update that more than 750 million containers had been returned across the network since the transformation began in April 2024.
The organization has also indicated that the next phase of the deposit expansion, covering non-deposit glass containers such as wine and spirits bottles as well as multi-layer cartons, is now scheduled for March 1, 2027.
With this latest opening, Laval’s Consignaction network continues to expand beyond the service points already opened in Auteuil, Duvernay, Fabreville and Laval-Ouest over the past year and a half.
