November: Laval Celebrates Volunteer Recognition Month

Throughout November, recognized as Volunteer Appreciation Month, the City of Laval is celebrating the people whose actions make the city more compassionate, united, and vibrant. Every day, thousands of residents dedicate their time to enrich and transform their community in countless ways.
Whether through a one-time project or ongoing commitment, volunteer opportunities exist for everyone wishing to get involved and make a difference.
A Night to Celebrate Laval’s Volunteers
On November 25, the City will host its 4th Laval Volunteer Celebration Night at Salle André-Mathieu. The evening will feature performances in music, dance, and comedy, as well as moving testimonials highlighting the passion and generosity of Laval’s volunteer community.
“Every small gesture, every hour given, and every shared smile help make Laval a more caring and connected city. I sincerely thank all those who give their time with passion, dedication, and generosity,” said Mayor Stéphane Boyer.
“In this spirit of recognition, the City of Laval is proud to honour Raymond McIntyre, from Triathlon Laval, as our Exceptional Volunteer for his leadership, generosity, and team spirit.”
2025 Dollard-Morin Award Recipient
Since 2019, Raymond McIntyre, administrator and marketing lead at Triathlon Laval, has stood out for his energy, creativity, and deep commitment to Laval’s sports community. A true triathlon enthusiast, he has helped his club shine by launching initiatives such as a welcome guide for new members, social media management, promotional materials, and an annual fundraiser that gathered over 500 participants.
The Dollard-Morin Award recognizes exceptional volunteer involvement in recreation and sports, as well as the organizations and municipalities that support them. The award is presented in partnership with Québec’s regional recreation and sports units, the Conseil québécois du loisir, Sports-Québec, and the Association québécoise du loisir municipal.
