$32,000 Granted to the Laval Beer Festival

As the summer and fall seasons approach, the Quebec government is reaffirming its commitment to events that energize local communities and attract visitors. As part of this initiative, the Laval Beer Festival will receive $32,000 in financial support, an announcement made on May 11, 2026, by Tourism Minister Amélie Dionne and Laval-des-Rapides regional government assistant Céline Haytayan. This funding will allow the festival to continue its mission of bringing residents together, welcoming visitors from outside the region, and showcasing Laval’s cultural and tourism vitality. Over the years, the Laval Beer Festival has become a must-attend event that contributes to the city’s lively atmosphere while helping promote local businesses.
Festivals as Economic Drivers in Quebec
The Quebec government views festivals and tourism events as essential tools for economic growth and regional attractiveness. Every year, these gatherings generate millions of visits, support numerous jobs, and boost activity for local businesses, restaurants, and tourist attractions.
Whether cultural, sports, culinary, or agricultural in nature, these events help make Quebec a vibrant and welcoming destination throughout the year. They also provide an important platform for local artists, artisans, producers, and athletes to showcase their talents.
Tourism Minister Amélie Dionne emphasized that festivals play a key role in strengthening Quebec’s tourism reputation. According to her, the economic and social benefits directly support local communities while enhancing Quebec’s image on both the national and international stage.
For her part, Céline Haytayan noted that Laval has built a strong reputation thanks to the quality of its event programming. She encouraged residents and visitors alike to take full advantage of the activities offered during upcoming festivals.
A Funding Program Supporting Events Across Quebec
The financial assistance granted to the Laval Beer Festival is part of Quebec’s provincial funding program for festivals and tourism events. The initiative aims to encourage a diverse tourism offering while promoting responsible and sustainable development.
Each year, nearly 300 festivals and events benefit from the program, generating approximately 24 million participation days across the province. Supported projects must also meet certain sustainable development requirements in line with the objectives of Quebec’s 2025–2030 Sustainable Tourism Growth Strategy.
To qualify, organizations must be legally established in Quebec or Canada and conduct their activities within the province.
A Promising Season for Laval
Thanks to this financial support, the Laval Beer Festival will continue offering a festive and community-focused experience while contributing to the region’s visibility. As tourism becomes increasingly important to the city’s economy, investments like this demonstrate the government’s commitment to supporting events that bring communities together and attract visitors from across the province and beyond.
