CANOPÉE invites residents to explore Laval’s urban forests this spring

The organization CANOPÉE is launching its spring programming, inviting Laval residents to take part in a series of outdoor activities focused on discovering and protecting the city’s urban forests.
The initiative was announced in a press release issued April 9, 2026.
A spring program centred on nature
According to CANOPÉE, the seasonal programming aims to highlight the renewal of forest ecosystems, including the emergence of new plant growth and the return of pollinators.
Participants will be able to take part in:
- cleanup activities in wooded areas
- guided tours focused on identifying spring flowers
- wellness and relaxation moments in nature
All activities are free and offered in different wooded areas across Laval, according to the organization.
Pollinator festival to close the season
The programming will conclude with a “pollinator festival” scheduled for May 30, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Bois de l’Équerre.
The event will include:
- citizen planting activities
- a bioblitz to document local biodiversity
- a seed exchange kiosk
- sales of native plants
- educational and family-oriented activities
CANOPÉE states that the event will also provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about the role of pollinators and actions that can help protect urban forests.
Mission focused on accessibility and education
In the press release, CANOPÉE reiterates that its activities are designed to be accessible and inclusive, with a focus on environmental education, conservation and community participation.
The organization’s mission is to promote and make urban forests more accessible through conservation efforts, educational initiatives and tree planting, while encouraging residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices.
Registration for activities is currently open, with limited spots available, according to CANOPÉE.
