Momo Cultural Station returns with more than 35 free events in downtown Laval

Laval’s Momo Cultural Station will return for its fourth edition from July 30 to September 13, transforming the area surrounding Place Bell into a pedestrian-friendly public space featuring more than 35 free cultural events.
Organized by the City of Laval, the six-week program will once again close Claude-Gagné Street to traffic, creating a temporary gathering place dedicated to live performances, artistic discoveries and community activities.
Music, comedy and family programming
This year’s lineup will feature performances by artists including Ariane Roy, Bon Enfant, Marie Céleste and Korine Côté, along with a wide variety of concerts, comedy shows, dance performances and interactive activities.
According to the City of Laval, the site will host recurring programming from Thursday through Sunday throughout the summer.
Among the featured series are Co-motion Thursdays, highlighting contemporary French-language music and comedy, and MOSAÏQUE at Momo Fridays, showcasing artists representing a variety of cultural backgrounds.
A new addition this year, Momo Dance Nights, will transform the site into an outdoor dance floor with evenings dedicated to salsa, bachata and reggaeton.
Families will also find dedicated programming on Sunday mornings through Momo for Families, offering performances and workshops for children.
Public art installation
The 2026 edition will also feature a temporary artistic installation by Montreal artist Kezna Dalz, whose work will reinterpret elements of the site through artwork inspired by Laval’s cultural diversity.
A growing summer destination
According to the City of Laval, attendance at Momo Cultural Station increased by 20 per cent in 2025 compared with the previous year, reflecting the growing popularity of the downtown summer destination.
Beyond its cultural programming, the site is designed as a public gathering space where visitors can attend performances, socialize, relax, work outdoors or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
The temporary installation, designed by Aire commune, forms part of the city’s broader strategy to animate public spaces and strengthen downtown Laval as a year-round destination.
Collaborative project
The Momo Cultural Station is presented through a collaboration between the City of Laval and several local cultural and institutional partners, including Co-Motion, La Centrale des artistes, Yambae – Espace danse, Espace Montmorency, Place Bell/Groupe CH and L’Enclav.
The program is part of the city’s broader cultural initiative, Culture Grows Everywhere, developed in partnership with Culture Laval and Tourisme Laval to encourage residents and visitors to discover cultural activities throughout the city.
