Active and retired City of Laval employees raised $115,000 for the Canadian Red Cross, Quebec Division, as part of the organization’s 38th corporate fundraising campaign.

According to information provided by the City of Laval, the municipal campaign remains one of the most significant corporate campaigns in Quebec for the Red Cross.

The funds were collected through individual donations and group activities involving city employees, retirees and campaign ambassadors.

10th consecutive year above $100,000

This year’s campaign brought together 388 donors and 49 ambassadors.

It also marked the 10th consecutive year that contributions from Laval’s active and retired municipal employees exceeded $100,000.

Supporting people affected by disasters

According to the City, the funds will support the Red Cross mission to assist people affected by disasters in Quebec.

The Red Cross provides emergency support such as temporary lodging, food assistance, clothing and essential items for people impacted by fires, floods and other emergencies.

The organization is active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to respond to immediate needs and support communities during recovery.

The City of Laval thanked all employees, retirees and volunteers who donated, participated in activities or helped promote the campaign.
