FC Supra signs veteran forward Jack McInerney for remainder of 2026 season
FC Supra du Québec has signed veteran forward Jack McInerney for the remainder of the 2026 Canadian Premier League season.
The club announced the move on September 18 as it looks to add attacking depth for the final stretch of its inaugural campaign.
McInerney, 34, returns to professional soccer after last playing with USL side Oakland Roots in 2020.
MLS experience added to attack
McInerney was selected seventh overall by the Philadelphia Union in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft after being drafted directly out of high school.
According to FC Supra, he scored 36 MLS goals before turning 23, the second-highest total in league history for a player of that age.
He later played for the Montreal Impact, Columbus Crew SC, Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy.
During his time in Montreal, McInerney won the 2014 Canadian Championship and was part of the club that reached the CONCACAF Champions League final.
“Jack brings experience, instincts and a real understanding of what it takes to score goals at this level,” Supra head coach Nick Razzaghi said in a statement.
“He gives us another option in attack and adds experience to the group as we look to finish our first season strongly.”
McInerney also represented the United States at several youth levels and was part of the country’s squad for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He later received a senior call-up for the United States’ 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning squad.
Familiar return to Montreal
McInerney previously played in Montreal and has since made the city home with his family.
“Jack has built an impressive career in North American soccer and has a real connection to Montreal,” FC Supra President Rocco Placentino said.
Placentino added that the club is continuing to strengthen its roster while building toward future seasons.
Boughanmi leaves club
As part of the same roster update, FC Supra announced that it had mutually agreed to terminate Oussama Boughanmi’s player contract.
The club thanked Boughanmi for his contributions during his time with Supra.
Seven matches remain
FC Supra has seven matches remaining in its inaugural CPL season.
The club returns to league action on Sunday, September 20, on the road against Atlético Ottawa at TD Place. Kickoff is scheduled for noon Eastern Time.
Supra will then travel to Calgary to face Cavalry FC before returning to Stade Boréale on October 4 against Pacific FC.
