Investing in our neighborhoods: Capitaine-Molly-Kool Park

Capitaine-Molly-Kool Park, in our L’Orée-des-Bois district, continues its impressive transformation. This major investment aims to make it an even more attractive and community-building recreational space for the residents of Laval.

On the agenda: a year-round visitor center, water play areas, multi-purpose trails, rest and picnic areas, a covered refrigerated ice rink that can be converted into a basketball court in the summer, a five-on-five soccer field, and four pickleball courts.

The transformation is already well underway. In 2023, a footbridge over a wetland was built, providing access to the park from Baffin Street. Children’s play areas and exercise stations have also been added to the site in recent years. Work is continuing this year to begin the second phase of this project.

The work on Cousteau Street is also enhancing the area surrounding the park with new sidewalks, a bike path, and parking spaces to make it more accessible. Across the street, the new Roscoe dog park offers four-legged friends a fenced-in, well-lit 1,300 m² space to run, play and burn off energy.

With all these new amenities, Capitaine-Molly-Kool Park is emerging as a new gathering place in our neighborhood, with something to appeal to families as well as sports and outdoor enthusiasts. These wonderful improvements will help make our neighborhood an even more pleasant place to live, one that brings us together!
