After being recognized at the 2026 Défi OSEntreprendre Laval Gala, Productions Invraisemblables says it plans to continue expanding its live storytelling and comedy series, Les Contours.

The Laval-based organization, founded by comedian and storyteller Serge Yvan Bourque, received the regional award in the Business Creation – Social Economy category during this year’s OSEntreprendre competition.

As previously reported by Laval Weekly, Bourque was among the local entrepreneurs honoured during the gala held April 27, where students and business founders from across Laval were recognized for projects in entrepreneurship, education and social economy.

A project focused on local cultural vitality

In a press release issued May 12, Productions Invraisemblables stated that its objective extends beyond organizing performances, describing the initiative as an effort to create a stronger local cultural scene centered on spoken arts and community gathering.

“What we offer is not just shows. It’s a lever for local vitality,” Bourque stated in the release.

The organization indicated that following a pilot project launched last fall, it will now continue developing Les Contours through new events scheduled this spring.

Upcoming performances in Laval and Montreal

The next Les Contours cabaret-style performance is scheduled for May 30 at Théâtre du Bout de l’Île in Laval, followed by a second event on June 17 at Brasserie des Patriotes in Montreal as part of the MiniFest festival.

According to Productions Invraisemblables, the series combines storytelling, humour and hybrid spoken-word performance formats.

The announced lineup includes:

  • Serge Yvan Bourque as host and monologist
  • Storyteller Jérôme Bérubé
  • Spoken-word artist Julie Dirwimmer
  • Comedian Marc-Antoine Lévesque

Looking toward a regular program

The organization says it hopes to eventually establish a recurring monthly program for Les Contours with the support of sponsors and community partners.

The recognition comes as Laval’s cultural and entrepreneurial sectors continue highlighting local creators through initiatives such as Défi OSEntreprendre, which has operated across Quebec since 1998 and supports projects ranging from school entrepreneurship to startup businesses and social economy initiatives.
