Three Laval-based women’s shelters, Maison Le Prélude, Maison l’Esther and Maison de Lina, together with Bouclier d’Athéna Services Familiaux, have formalized on january 14, a renewed memorandum of understanding with the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse.

This strengthened collaboration aims to ensure more coordinated, consistent and effective support for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. By updating the agreement, the partner organizations seek to improve communication, clarify intervention protocols and enhance collaboration between shelter staff and youth protection professionals, particularly in complex or high-risk situations involving children.

The renewed protocol reflects a shared commitment to prioritizing the safety, well-being and long-term stability of families affected by violence. It also recognizes the importance of rapid information sharing and joint decision-making to better protect children while supporting mothers through the recovery process.
