Wine lovers, spirit enthusiasts and foodies gathered at Centropolis from July 2 to 4 as the Laval Wine and Spirits Festival returned for three days of tastings, culinary demonstrations and gourmet discoveries.

The event featured exhibitors, a VIP tent and a variety of tasting experiences showcasing products from Quebec and around the world.

Opening day affected by heat and rain

The festival officially opened on Thursday, July 2, at 3 p.m. under hot weather conditions. Attendance was modest during the afternoon before heavy rain moved through the area later in the evening.

Despite the weather, visitors were able to enjoy the opening activities, including a free live culinary masterclass hosted by chef Luca Sciaraffa.

Presented under the theme Wine and Dine Under the Stars, the demonstration explored food and wine pairings while highlighting culinary techniques and gastronomy.

Visitors return on Friday

The festival welcomed larger crowds on Friday evening as visitors explored exhibitor booths featuring wines from several countries, spirits, gourmet products and specialty foods.

According to observations made on site by Laval Weekly, the atmosphere remained lively throughout the evening, with festivalgoers moving between tasting stations and enjoying the outdoor setting at Centropolis.

Busy finish to the weekend

Attendance appeared to peak on Saturday, particularly during the final hours of the festival, as large numbers of visitors arrived to enjoy one last opportunity to sample products and meet exhibitors.

One of the defining features of this year’s edition was the diversity of producers and products represented, allowing visitors to discover wines, spirits and gourmet specialties from a wide range of regions in one location.

Another festival coming to Centropolis

The Groupe Espace événementiel de Laval, organizer of the Laval Wine and Spirits Festival, will return to Centropolis next week with another public event.

The Laval Healthy Eating Festival will take place from July 9 to 11, featuring exhibitors and activities focused on healthy food, wellness and natural products.
