As the summer approaches, Laval residents will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy live music as the 11th edition of Zones Musicales returns from July 4 to August 23. Presented by the TD Bank Group, the festival will feature more than 40 free outdoor concerts at parks, public squares and waterfront locations across the city.

More than 350 performers are scheduled to take the stage throughout the festival, offering audiences a wide selection of musical styles at eight venues across Laval.

Now entering its 11th year, Zones Musicales has established itself as one of Laval’s signature summer events. By bringing performances directly into neighbourhoods, the festival makes live entertainment easily accessible while encouraging residents to explore different parts of the city. Thanks to support from the City of Laval and presenting sponsor TD Bank Group, every concert remains free to attend.

The opening weekend on July 4 and 5 will take place at Parc Bernard-Landry, where festivalgoers can enjoy performances by Zachary Richard and Mixmania. The season will conclude on Aug. 22 and 23 in downtown Laval on the pedestrian section of Claude-Gagné Street with shows by Lou-Adriane Cassidy and QW4RTZ.

This year’s program features an extensive lineup that includes Marie-Élaine Thibert, Elida Almeida, Zébulon, King Melrose, Beyries, Maten, Cécile Doo-Kingué, Le Winston Band and Emilie-Claire Barlow, among many others.

“In Laval, it doesn’t truly feel like summer until Zones Musicales begins,” said Christine Poirier, municipal councillor for Pont-Viau and council member responsible for culture. “The City is proud to offer high-quality programming free of charge and to help make culture accessible to everyone.”

Poirier added that the concerts provide residents with opportunities to gather outdoors, discover new artists and enjoy the summer season together.

Fans of classical music will also be able to attend two performances by the Orchestre symphonique de Laval on Aug. 11 and 12 at Parc Bernard-Landry. Under the direction of artistic director and conductor Adam Johnson, the orchestra will present a family-oriented concert as well as a separate performance for the general public.

Concerts will be presented in eight areas of Laval, including Vieux-Sainte-Dorothée, Vieux-Sainte-Rose, Berge aux Quatre-Vents, Centre de la Nature, Saint-François, Parc Bernard-Landry, Parc Légaré and the Montmorency district surrounding Maison des Arts and Claude-Gagné Street. Depending on the venue, visitors can also enjoy pre-show entertainment, dance performances, food trucks and beverage service.

Zones Musicales forms part of Laval’s broader summer cultural programming, which encourages residents to experience concerts, performances and other artistic events throughout the city. The initiative is promoted through the “Culture grows everywhere” (La culture pousse partout) campaign, a partnership involving the City of Laval, Culture Laval and Tourisme Laval.

Admission is free for all concerts and no reservations are required. The complete schedule, artist lineup and weather updates are available on the festival’s official website.
