Last weekend, the Laval Comic-Con convention welcomed more than 7,500 visitors for its 3rd edition. This event took place over the weekend of April 25 and 26 at the Enclav of Place Bell.
Upon entering the exhibition space, visitors were welcomed by a long row of booths filled with themed items and objects (manga, video games, movie characters, etc.). It was also possible to come across several people in cosplay.
After walking around this level, it was clear that the rest of Comic-Con continued on the floor below, in the performance hall.
This space had been transformed by around a hundred booths and shops all related to pop culture. There were so many that it was difficult to know where to look.
By taking the time to walk around and observe the items that vendors were selling, two elements stood out in particular: almost every booth had a specific theme, and a large portion of the items for sale had been handmade by artisans.
Visitors could wander for more than an hour in order to discover the variety of items for sale. There really was everything for everyone. Between clothing (merch), video games, movies, comic books, stickers, figurines, posters, etc., there was more than enough to get lost in.
Almost every imaginable franchise was represented. Whether it was Marvel, DC, Disney, Star Wars, Pokémon, One Piece, etc., everything was there.
However, it should not be assumed that only huge corporations were featured at Laval Comic-Con: several booths also offered items from universes less known to the general public.
In addition to the booths, several activities brought the event to life, including a cosplay competition, live tribute performances to the group Huntrix from the film K-pop Demon Hunter, an autograph session with Mathieu Coderre (actor in Scream VI) and Benz Antoine (actor in Overwatch, 19-2, and Saint-Pierre), as well as a performance of film music performed by the Wind Orchestra of Film Music (OVMF).

Just like on the upper floor, a wide variety of people in cosplay could be observed. Some participants even asked to have their pictures taken.
It was in this context that @momo_cos95 (on Instagram), a cosplay enthusiast, was met and shared some information about Comic-Con:
“It’s not my first time, I came last year and I wanted to come back.”
After being asked about her appreciation of the event, she added:
“I already really liked the 2025 edition, but this one is even bigger and more impressive. I can’t wait to see next year’s.”
We’re already looking forward to it as well!
