FC Supra du Québec builds momentum in January ahead of inaugural CPL season

January marked a significant month of activity for FC Supra du Québec, as the Laval-based club continued its preparations for its first season in the Canadian Premier League in 2026.
Officially announced in September 2025 as a new CPL franchise representing the Greater Montreal region, FC Supra was granted a one-year preparation period before entering league competition. Founded in 2025 and headquartered in Laval, the club is set to make its professional debut during the CPL’s eighth season.
First training camp and roster developments
According to a press release received on January 19, 2026, FC Supra officially launched its first training camp on January 21 at the Complexe multi-sports de Laval. The camp, presented by WestJet, represents a key milestone in the club’s build-up toward both its inaugural CPL season and its first participation in the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship.
At the opening of camp, the club confirmed the arrival of several new players, including defenders Keesean Ferdinand and Clément Bayiha, and forward Bakary Kaboré. A fourth signing was scheduled to be unveiled during the camp. According to FC Supra, the three players bring experience from Major League Soccer, the CPL and European leagues.
Contract details provided by the club indicate that Bayiha and Kaboré are signed through 2026 with options for 2027, while Ferdinand is under contract through 2027 with an option for 2028.
Alessandro Biello joins FC Supra

In a separate press release dated January 21, 2026, FC Supra announced the signing of midfielder Alessandro Biello on a two-year guaranteed contract with a club option for 2028. Biello, 19, joined the squad at the opening of training camp.
According to the club, Biello developed through Quebec’s youth system before joining the CF Montréal Academy at the age of eight. He later signed a professional contract with CF Montréal in 2024, made his first-team debut in the TELUS Canadian Championship, and appeared in Major League Soccer. During the 2025 season, Biello was loaned to the Halifax Wanderers, where he made 21 CPL appearances. He has also represented Canada at the U17 and U20 international levels.
FC Supra President and Co-Founder Rocco Placentino stated in the press release that the club viewed the signing as a strong fit for both the player and the organization, citing Biello’s professional experience and readiness to contribute.
As of January 21, the club reported a roster of 17 signed players, with additional signings expected as preseason preparations continue.
Canadian Championship matchup confirmed
Also in January, FC Supra learned its opponent for the preliminary round of the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship. According to information shared by the club, the draw took place on January 17 on OneSoccer, confirming a matchup against Woodbridge Strikers SC. The competition is scheduled to begin in May and will mark FC Supra’s first appearance in a national cup tournament.

Inaugural primary kit unveiled
The month concluded with another milestone. In a press release received on January 29, 2026, FC Supra unveiled its inaugural primary kit ahead of its first CPL season. The kit was produced in collaboration with hummel, the CPL’s official kit and apparel partner.
According to the club, the design reflects themes of resilience, unity and pride, while highlighting FC Supra’s identity as Quebec’s first CPL team. The jersey will feature EB Games Canada as the club’s inaugural front-of-kit sponsor.

The club also noted that, for the first time in CPL history, all 2026 kits will display the league’s logo in club colours on the sleeve, with FC Supra wearing the French-language mark for the Première Ligue canadienne.
The primary kit is scheduled to be available for purchase online and in stores beginning in February. Information regarding tickets and membership packages for FC Supra’s inaugural season is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
