Former Val-des-Arbres city councillor Achille Cifelli was awarded the Deputy’s Medal in recognition of his long-standing volunteer involvement in Laval.
The distinction was presented by Mille-Îles MNA Virginie Dufour during a community Easter event held in Val-des-Brises, according to a press release issued April 2.
More than two decades of volunteer work
Cifelli, who served as municipal councillor for Val-des-Arbres from 2021 to 2025, has been involved in his community for more than 23 years.
Among his contributions, he founded the Comité Citoyens Bénévoles de Val-des-Brises and helped organize several local events, including neighbourhood celebrations, community festivals and seasonal activities.
Recognition during Easter celebration
The medal was presented as part of a community Easter gathering that brought together residents and families.
During the event, Dufour also distributed 300 chocolate rabbits to children in attendance and offered a four-kilogram chocolate rabbit as part of a draw.
The press release describes the recognition as a tribute to Cifelli’s sustained commitment to strengthening community life in Laval.
