The coming weeks will be marked in Laval by a series of major events highlighting vocational education, aimed at introducing the general public to the wide range of trades, facilities and programs offered by the region’s professional training centres.
Starting January 20, 2026, Laval’s vocational training centres are inviting residents, secondary school students and individuals considering a career change to take part in open houses and special activities designed to showcase hands-on programs that lead directly to employment and to help participants plan their next career steps.

Valentine’s Day plant sale at the horticultural training centre
In February, a special activity will highlight the expertise developed by students in the horticulture sector.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Centre de formation horticole de Laval will host a Valentine’s Day plant sale. The event will allow residents to purchase plants produced as part of the training programs and to see firsthand the quality of the students’ work.
Supporting career exploration and informed choices
According to the organizers, these events aim to support future students in their career orientation by providing privileged access to learning environments and the professionals who work in them.
Open houses offer an opportunity to explore a variety of trades, ask questions about programs, admission requirements and employment prospects, and discover study environments designed on a human scale.
By showcasing sectors such as skilled trades, hospitality, administration and horticulture, the initiative seeks to respond to labour market needs while offering concrete and motivating pathways for future graduates.
