The Montreal Book Fair took place from November 19 to 23 at the Palais des congrès, drawing large crowds who came to meet authors, explore new publishers, and take part in a wide range of activities. This year’s edition was presented under the theme “(Re)enchantment.”

The event welcomed readers of all ages and offered a smooth visitor experience. The layout made it easy to move between the different sections, with rest areas, cafés, and activity zones set up throughout the site. Publishing houses and authors were spread out across the floor in a way that supported discovery and interactions.

Several designated reading spaces allowed visitors to pause and enjoy their new books on-site, creating a moment of calm within the energy of the fair. The themed sections including youth literature, teen fiction, science fiction, and intercultural literature drew a diverse audience looking for content that matched their interests.

Authors took part in signing sessions, talks, and moderated discussions where they shared insights into their creative process, inspirations, and current projects. These exchanges offered participants a closer look at the work behind the books presented.

This edition reflected a program announced earlier in the fall, which included major interviews, literary duos, cross-disciplinary conversations, immersive formats, and a new space designed for visitors aged 16 to 29 called “Lis-moi MTL.” Evening events, youth workshops, and interactive activities rounded out the programming.

Over its five days, the 2025 Montreal Book Fair delivered a full program focused on connection, discovery, and public participation, highlighting the place of reading and literary creation in the cultural life of the region.
