Laval’s two major municipal parties, Mouvement lavallois and Action Laval, announced the addition of new candidates to their respective teams ahead of the November 2 municipal election.

Carole St-Denis to Represent Mouvement lavallois in Champfleury

Mouvement lavallois – Team Stéphane Boyer unveiled the candidacy of Carole St-Denis for the Champfleury district. St-Denis has served for five years as Executive Director of the Table régionale de concertation des aînés de Laval (TRCAL) and currently chairs the governing board of Équinoxe Elementary School.

According to outgoing mayor and party leader Stéphane Boyer, St-Denis “understands the realities of both seniors and young families,” and her “experience, discipline and commitment make her a valuable ally for Lavallois,” he stated.

With a background in communications and business development, as well as a certification in leadership, St-Denis is recognized for introducing the École RÉFLEXE Aîné® educational toolkit at a local elementary school.

“After over two decades in Laval, I want to put my experience to work for the residents of Champfleury,” said the candidate, pledging to defend “with empathy and determination” the issues affecting seniors and families in her district.

Action Laval Introduces Three New Candidates

Action Laval also announced three new candidacies:

  • James Bissi (Sainte-Dorothée): A civil engineer and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, Bissi has worked in hydroelectricity for the past decade. He said he aims to “build bridges between citizens, elected officials, and administration, and believes Sainte-Dorothée needs “a councillor who is present and acts with integrity.”
  • Melissa Annisi (Auteuil): A financial security advisor and former political attaché, Annisi emphasized her “empathy and sense of ethics” as key strengths. “Laval needs elected officials who understand people’s realities and truly listen to them,” she stated, adding that she is ready to work toward a city that is “more humane, transparent, and connected to its citizens.”
  • Stefano Piscitelli (Vimont): With 25 years of experience in digital transformation for major companies, Piscitelli previously ran provincially in Vimont in 2022 under Éric Duhaime’s Conservative Party of Quebec. He said his goal is to “bring efficiency back to municipal services.” A father of four, he has also volunteered as a youth sports coach. “Vimont residents deserve fast and high-quality access to essential services,” he noted.

Action Laval interim leader Achille Cifelli described the trio as “strong, community-rooted candidates who understand the real challenges people face.” According to Cifelli, their candidacies “strengthen our team and offer a real alternative for Lavallois voters.
