Quebec-based social network Qlub has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the creation of a new regional information channel dedicated to Laval.

The initiative was announced in a press release issued February 25, 2026. According to the company, the campaign is being hosted on La Ruche and aims to finance the development of the “#Laval Channel” within the Qlub application.

The proposed channel would centralize local information, including news, events, cultural activities and regional initiatives, directly within the app.

“Our goal is to support local information and strengthen the connection between citizens, organizations and media,” said Philippe Larose Cadieux, CEO and co-founder of Qlub, in the press release. He added that the #Laval Channel would allow residents to interact more directly with their community.

How the channel would function

According to Qlub, content on the #Laval Channel would be accessible free of charge to all users of the application. Users would be able to view, like, comment on and share posts.

Accredited media outlets and Qlub Pro subscribers would also have the ability to publish content on the channel.

$10,000 funding target

The crowdfunding campaign sets a funding goal of $10,000. According to the press release, the funds would be used to:

  • Develop and integrate the regional channel within the Qlub application
  • Recruit local media and partners
  • Organize a launch event in Laval

The campaign will run until April 25, 2026.

Contribution options

Qlub outlines several contribution options for both individuals and organizations.

For citizens, options include a Qlub+ subscription, which offers a PLUS badge and priority support, as well as branded merchandise such as mugs, T-shirts and hoodies.

For organizations, contribution options include a Qlub Pro subscription, which allows content publication on the channel and access to Qlub Pro’s social media planning tool. The campaign also offers training sessions, conferences and official presenter status for the regional channel.

Qlub describes itself as a Quebec social network designed to connect communities, organizations and citizens around local information within what it characterizes as a sovereign and advertising-algorithm-free digital space.
