Federal Elections 2025: Officially confirmed candidates for Laval revealed

With 17 days remaining until the federal general elections on April 28, Elections Canada published the official list of validated candidacies in the four electoral districts on Laval Island on April 9. In previous reports, several candidates had been announced on social media or party websites but were not yet officially confirmed. Today, only the candidates validated by Elections Canada are listed.
Recall that a candidate can only be elected if their candidacy is officially confirmed by Elections Canada.
Below is the updated list of confirmed candidates by electoral district in Laval:
Alfred-Pellan
(Including Duvernay, Pont-Viau, Saint-François, Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Vimont Est)

According to polling data as of April 10, 2025, from the aggregator 338Canada, the current voting intentions are as follows:
- Alfred-Pellan: Liberal Party 60 percent, Bloc Québécois 18 percent, Conservative Party 17 percent, NDP 4 percent.
- Marc-Aurèle-Fortin: Liberal Party 57 percent, Bloc Québécois 20 percent, Conservative Party 18 percent, NDP 5 percent.
- Laval—Les Îles: Liberal Party 60 percent, Conservative Party 22 percent, Bloc Québécois 5 percent, NDP 4 percent.
- Vimy: Liberal Party 65 percent, Conservative Party 17 percent, Bloc Québécois 14 percent, NDP 4 percent.
In light of these numbers, the Liberal Party of Canada, led by Mark Carney, maintains a significant lead in all of Laval’s electoral districts. Should these trends hold until election day on April 28, the Liberals could win or retain all of Laval’s seats.
